The founder of Bridgerunners NYC and Godfather of the Outernational Running movement, Mike Saes asked me to design the graphic for his 50th Birthday 50k run. I was honored of course. This was an homage to the mid 80s after the BBoy style was phasing out, we wore Hawaiian suits (matching tropical floral print short sleeve button-up and shorts).

I wanted to create the toucan out of DYNE's branding elements. Wanted the lines to be clean and graphic.
DYNE's Creative Director Christopher Bevans' favorite bird is a toucan. The inspiration for the DYNE Spring 2020 collection was tropical birds. I created the body of the bird from the D letterform in the DYNE wordmark and the isosceles triangle.
