Bridging the Gap (BTG) is the ‘outernational’ movement that connects urban running crews to foster community, cultural exchange, and collaboration through running. Emphasizing inclusivity and shared experiences, BTG brings together runners from across the globe to participate in events, share stories, and build a supportive network that transcends competition.
I have had the privilege of designing for some of the inspiring run crews within the BTG movement. Collaborating with these global communities allowed me to capture their unique energy, culture, and identity through thoughtful design, further amplifying their impact within this boundary-breaking network of runners.

BRIDGERUNNERS NYC
One of my most memorable projects was designing for Mike Saes, the captain of NYC Bridgerunners, to commemorate his 50th birthday 50K ‘Winter Warz’ run. Bridgerunners, the original run crew, set the foundation for the global movement. The graphic I created was inspired by the iconic style of the TV show Hawaii 5-0, blending bold 80s surf nostalgia with the crew’s dynamic spirit.

STUMPRUNNERS
I had the opportunity to design graphics for Stumprunners that reflect their distinctive connection to Portland’s trails and the natural beauty of Forest Park. These designs celebrate Stumprunners’ unique place within the Bridging the Gap movement and their passion for trail running.

Running Sistahs Social Club (RSSC)
The Running Sistahs Social Club is a vibrant community of Black/African-American identifying women runners in NYC, dedicated to advancing their culture through the power of social connection. Rooted in inclusivity and empowerment, the group fosters an environment where members celebrate their shared experiences, build friendships, and encourage one another both on and off the pavement.
I was inspired by the symbol of UMOJA, the Swahili word for “unity,” to serve as the visual centerpiece of the Running Sistahs Social Club logo. This concept beautifully embodies the community’s mission to empower and connect Black/African-American women runners through shared culture and collective strength.
